Mission Statement

The mission of GCYT, Inc. is to introduce live theatre to children of our community and surrounding communities.  Our aim is to enable each child to learn about and participate in live theatre and to make each child feel important by building self-esteem and self-confidence.  We offer the public an opportunity to enjoy quality productions of both well-known and less frequently seen musicals and plays.

Vision Statement

The vision of GCYT, Inc. is to provide an affordable, fun, high quality, and locally respected theatre experience for the children in our community by using state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.  All aspects of theatre are introduced to expand their knowledge of this profession in the hopes of aspiring to School productions, local theatre groups, and beyond.  With each passing season, we will be financially stable to give back to our community and our program will continuously improve while working in an environment that fosters teamwork and cooperation among everyone involved.  We will maintain high standards of communication to ensure that our members are well informed and our marketing initiative will be focused such that our community takes advantage of our live local theatre productions.

GCYT, Inc. was founded in 2002 by Joann MacFall and Missy Nims in an attempt to provide an affordable and quality theatre experience for children in our community and surrounding communities.

In our first season there were 72 children participating and a Musical Revue consisting of Grease, Oliver, Peter Pan, and The Sound of Music was performed with 1 cast.  The first year was such a success that the program grew with great interest.

Joann and Missy decided to form a board of 8 members to assist with the increase in membership and improve the program. Annie, Jr. with 2 casts and Music Man, Jr. with 1 cast were performed in our second year.

The third year, Disney's Beauty and the Beast was performed with 2 casts and Bye, Bye Birdie was performed with 1 cast.

The fourth year, we performed Oklahoma! with 2 casts and Disney's Aladdin, Jr. with 1 cast.

The fifth year we performed Seussical with 2 casts and Rogers & Hammerstein's version of Cinderella with 1 cast.

The 6th year, the kids performed Disney's Jungle Book, Willie Wonka, and The Sound of Music.

The 7th year we performed  Alice in Wonderland Jr. with two casts and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat with one cast.

The 8th year we performed High School Musical Jr with two casts and The Aristocats with one cast.

The 9th  year we we performed Narnia with two casts and 101 Dalmatians with one cast.

Our 10th year featured Fame with one cast & Beauty and the Beast for two casts.

Our 11th year featured The Little Mermaid with two casts and The Wizard of Oz with one cast.

Our 12th year featured Willy Wonka Jr with two casts and Seussical Jr with one cast.

Our 13th year featured High School Musical Jr with two casts and Peter Pan Jr with one cast.

Our 14th year featured Dr. Dolittle with one cast and Shrek: The Musical Jr. with two casts.

Our 15th year will feature Alice in Wonderland Jr. with one cast and Annie Jr. with two casts.

The program has been growing each year and there are many lessons learned from each year that we improve upon the following year. We owe the success of this program to all of our participating families and volunteers.  You always go above-and-beyond the call of duty and graciously donate your time.
